Where history lives and new stories begin
Since 1764, our inn on the historic Kornmarkt has welcomed travellers from all over the world. Friedrich Ebert’s daughter once lived within these old walls with his sister-in-law while she was studying – history you can still feel in every corner today. Generation after generation has run this house with love and warmth: a tradition we proudly continue.
Right in the middle of it all
Our location is a dream for anyone exploring Heidelberg: just 20 metres takes you to the funicular up to the majestic castle, the town hall is right next door, and the famous Old Bridge is only about five minutes’ walk away. From the market square around the corner to the romantic Church of the Holy Spirit – you’re already in the heart of everything that makes Heidelberg unforgettable.
The rooms in our house are as individual as our guests: some freshly renovated, others with lovingly preserved character. One thing is certain: each one gives you a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. Our two rooms with a balcony onto the Kornmarkt are especially popular – they offer the loveliest view of lively Heidelberg.

Taking over Hotel am Kornmarkt in 2025 made his dream come true: his own hotel with a relaxed, family atmosphere.
His absolute highlight? The unbeatable location in the middle of the Old Town. The house is surrounded by the castle, the market square, the Church of the Holy Spirit and the Old Bridge, so you can discover all of Heidelberg’s beauty on foot.
